ROTATING STUDY
Rotating study is the product of a brief exploration of Japanese joinery techniques. 1 traditional and 1 contemporary wood joinery techniques were chosen and then modified for use exclusively in a study space. Rather than using the techniques to create clear platforms, seating conditions and designated spaces for rest, the design chooses to be more ambiguous, changing by rotating the matrix any which way to accommodate various needs. The study culminated in a model which used real wooden elements, whittled to join together mimicking the way it would theoretically be achieved in real life.
